Have you got a digital camera?

Would you like to take much better pictures?

Learn really easy tricks to producing amazing photos?

Mark Zaretti's Photography Training Course

Are you really getting the best out of your camera? Over the years I've realised that many people who have cameras seldom know how to really use them. They just point and click, don't they? It's like having a 5 star chef at home but only asking them to make beans on toast. Now I don't mind beans on toast but I believe that everyone can take great pictures when they're shown how and I'm running this course to give you a chance to learn all the things I wish someone had shown me when I started taking pictures.

Who's this aimed at?

Whether you're a complete beginner and you've just got your first camera or you're more experienced then this is your chance to really improve your photography and photo editing skills. And you'll get to meet some great like-minded people. If you're a professional then you'd benefit too, but because I'm going to be sharing many of my own professional secrets and insights from over a decade then professionals are not allowed!

What's in it for you?

Take holiday snaps that people actually want to see!

Use your camera like a pro and go beyond the auto settings!

Post images on social sites that actually make people want to comment!

In Business? impress your clients with great photos for your blog and website!

Discover the joy of taking great pictures that you will want to get framed!

Most people don't read the manual and who can blame them? they're boring! The best way of learning is having someone who knows what they're doing show you while you get to practice and so this is an enjoyable hands-on course and I encourage you to bring your cameras, tripods and laptops if you've got them (none are essential though).

For the techie stuff you'll get handouts so you don't have to write things down, and importantly I'll be doing lots of live demonstrations including a behind the scenes sneak at my professional workflow. The whole day is geared around improving your skills so I'll be focusing on techniques and scenarios that are relevant to you. You may get a chance to play with some professional DSLR, Flash, Lighting and Lenses too as these will be available on the day.

What will you learn and explore?

The simple answer is "Loads!" and below are some of the topics I'll be covering on the day. What we do will depend a lot on you as along with the group you'll have my full attention and I welcome questions. Use the lists below as a guide and if there are things you're interested in then let me know and if enough people ask for them I'll add them to the list!

  • Understanding Light For Taking better Pictures
  • Easy but Powerful Camera settings
  • What's the Deal With Lenses (even if you've only got one!)
  • Composing Great Shots
  • Camera Techniques
  • Editing your Pictures
  • Fixing Your Pictures (Making granny look younger)
  • Professional Workflows
  • Looking After Your Kit

Do I need an expensive camera?

No. Whatever your camera, from rangefinders and compacts to DSLRs and medium formats you'll be able to take much better pictures once you understand the skills and techniques behind all photography.

I meet so many people who have reasonable cameras and software on their laptops and yet they are shooting with auto settings and simply downloading their pictures as JPGs. If your camera cost £50 or £5000, I want to help people like you to really unlock the power of your cameras and get creative. Even budget cameras these days have amazing capabilities.

Through hands-on experience I'll introduce the things you need to know about taking pictures and using the features of your camera. I'll then show you how to edit your pictures using features found on most photo editing programs including Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. (On the day I'll be using photoshop but the lessons can be applied to lots of different editing programs.)
